Training Excavation: Monday June 11th to Friday June 22nd
All aspects of Field Archaeology based on a defended Romano-British settlement site including Excavation, Geophysics, Written and Drawn Recording, Site Surveying, Photography, Finds Processing, Standing Building Recording and Environmental Sampling
We are offering a 2 week (Monday to Friday) undergraduate level training course for £500.
Fee includes free camping site and use of fully equipped kitchen, hot showers and flushing toilets.
The course is designed for those who have very little/no experience of practical fieldwork.
For those wanting to stay on site extra weeks are at volunteers rates i.e. £50 for camping and dig fees.
Diggers will need a current tetanus vaccination, 4” WHS trowel, sturdy footwear, hat, gloves, waterproofs, water bottle. Food is not supplied: it is self catering.
Places are limited as we already have 16 undergraduates coming on a group contract.
